The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan Chapter (MSSN UI) held this year’s edition of the Professor Aderinoye and Professor Noibi Debate and Quran Intervarsity Competitions respectively on Saturday, 25 September 2021.
The two competitions, which took place at the institution’s central mosque, marked the Day 2 events of the association’s Jihad Week.
At the end of the competitions, representatives of the Uthman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, were declared winner of both categories.
The team scored 96.17% and 76.3% in the Quran and debate competitions respectively to emerge victorious ahead of seven other schools.
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), emerged second in the Qur’an competition with a total of 92.16% while the University of Ibadan finished third with 91.83 points. Others are Obafemi Awolowo University, fourth; Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, fifth and The Polytechnic Ibadan came sixth.
However, the Lagos State University emerged second in the Debate competition with a total of 72.8 points. Others are Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, third;
The Polytechnic Ibadan, fourth; Special College of Education, Oyo; fifth; University of Ibadan, sixth and the Federal University of Technology Akure finished in the seventh position.
