Brown Roof Studios, an Ibadan-based comic studio and publishers of Jàkùtà, organised a 3-hour masterclass and discussion session on Thriving as a Creative in the Nigerian Industry. The masterclass, which was in collaboration with Lagos Comic Convention and Spoof Animations, was held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Old Senior Common Room, Lord Tedder Hall, University of Ibadan.
The event saw writers, artists, graphics designers, and about 30 other students take part in the interactive and workshop sessions of the meeting.
According to Adedayo Erivic, the co-founder and Managing Director of Brown Roof Studios, who was also at the lecture, the aim of the event was to teach creative different creatives students who attended the event on ways to improve on their skills and thrive in the creative industry in Nigeria.
Also in attendance was Mr Ayodele Elegba, the founder of Lagos Comic Convention and Spoof Animations. He shared relevant information about the Nigerian creative industry, and also took the participants on a workshop session which taught, in practice, how to write ground-breaking stories and scripts properly.
The event ended with a scouting session where a number of young creatives were drafted into working with Spoof Animations which is located in Lagos.
