Independence Hall Alumni Hold Open Day

The Alumni Body of the Great Independence Hall on the 17th of June 2023, held a meet and greet with the Hall’s management.

The purpose of this was geared towards the development of the hall and fostering the connection between the alumni body and the current students.

Also, they shared their plans with the school management as regards the execution of some capital projects in the hall.

Dignitaries like Prof. Olapegba, Chief Akinbote, and Jimmy Jeje were also present.

In an interview with Mr. Jimmy Jeje, the Communications officer, he revealed the purpose of the one-hour event.

“The purpose of this meeting was to introduce the alumni body to the University of Ibadan and share our plan,” he told Indy Press.

“We propose to renovate the Independence Hall mini stadium (Maracana) to a standard five aside pitch.

“We also want to create an extra court for basketball, the inclusion of board games, and foster other sports.

“The Maracana is also intended to create extra revenue for the hall when it is made up to standard.

“We intend to draft all finalists into the alumni body as quickly as possible by working with the hall management to get their data, for opportunities and scholarship offers”

 

The Alumni body then paid a visit to the A block reading room which is one of their previous projects in the hall.

The meeting was brought to a close at about 11AM after appreciation gifts were given to members of the Alumni body.
