Independence Hall’s Katanga Warriors have qualified for the semifinals of the UISU Inter Hall football competition after Mellanby were disqualified from the competition on Friday.
In an earlier report by Indy Press, Mellanby defeated Indy Hall 1-0 when both teams squared off on Thursday. However, Mellanby were found to have fielded an ineligible player.
Following this development coach Allen Eduviere, who is part of the organizing committee of the Inter Hall football competition announced that Independence Hall have now advanced to the semifinal, where they will play Alexander Brown Hall(ABH) on Monday at the Awo Stadium.
The game is set to kick off by 4:30 PM, and the winner of the tie will square off against the winner of the game between Kuti Hall and Abdulsalam Hall in the final.
Independence Hall have not won the football competition in recent years, but they have enough quality to change that this time despite their dismal start.
The article has been updated to include a screenshot of Coach Allen’s message which was not in the earlier version.
