On 17 February, 2024, in a bid to foster better understanding and engagement with external unions, the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ibadan launched a survey aimed at gauging the perspectives and experiences of its student body regarding organizations such as the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of University Students (NAUS).

The survey, accessible via the provided link, seeks to uncover the reasons behind the perceived apathy towards these unions among students. The SRC emphasizes the importance of students’ input in identifying factors that may hinder active participation and representation within these organizations.

The SRC stated in its announcement. As members of this academic community, your insight is invaluable, We are keen to understand your views on how these unions represent your interests and the challenges that may deter active participation.

The feedback collected from the survey is expected to inform the SRC in developing strategies to enhance representation, participation, and communication between the student body and external unions. The committee also assured students that their responses will remain confidential and will be utilized solely for the improvement of student union activities and representation.
