The Legislative Council of the Great Independence Hall of Residence has on Sunday, April 7th 2024, approved a grand sum of one hundred and forty four thousand, three hundred and ninety six naira (#144,396) for the hall’s 2024 election activities.
At its emergency sitting held at the Hall Cafeteria, the budget which is to be expended by the electoral commission, was presented by its Chairman and Secretary, Hon. Ogunmefun Samuel and Hon. Shoge Quadri respectively.
The approved three-page budget presented by the electoral body, Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC), covers utilizable cost on election website, graphics, printing, fuel, stationeries, refreshment, certificate of return, certificate for KRIEC members, Press Night and a five percent miscellaneous of the total budget.
The approved financial breakdown of the election budget is as follows; Election Website (hosting, domain name, server and workmanship) – #40,000; Graphics Design (election day, press night and manifesto night) – #9,000; Printing of Nomination form, Screening Sheet and Election Result Sheet – #8,170; Fuel – #3,050; Stationeries – #1,000; Refreshment – #35,200; Certificate of Return – #6,300; Certificate for KRIEC members – #4,000; Press Night – #30,800; and a five percent miscellaneous worth #6, 876.
Summed up, a grand total of one hundred and forty four thousand, three hundred and ninety six naira (#144,396) has been approved.
The Legislative Council of the Hall however has tasked the electoral commission, KRIEC with diligent spending of the approved budget.
