The President, University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Aweda Bolaji, on Monday, 16th September, 2024, explained that the Union has been fundraising to support certain students.

His response comes subsequent to the growing trend of some students seeking financial assistance from the general public as Friday deadline for fee payment looms.

“We have been trying to raise funds for individuals at our own end,” Aweda said.

“Inshallah, our effort in raising funds for students will amount to something,” he added.

When asked about how many students such a plan will cater for, Aweda Bolaji noted that he could not ascertain.

Recall that the University of Ibadan management announced that the portal for fee payment will be closed on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Many students who cannot afford the hiked fees are under apprehension of what will be their fate.
