The Council of Departmental Presidents, University of Ibadan, on Tuesday,17th of September, 2024, wrote an open letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, in request for an extension of school fees payment and for a waiver permitting students who are yet to pay their school fees to sit for the first semester examination.

According to the open letter, the council, backing up their plea for further extension, cited issues relating to the “current economic situation” as to why a “significant number of students are struggling to pay their full fees, especially the indigent students of the University of Ibadan.”

The letter further pointed out that “many students who applied for NELFUND loan are still awaiting approval.”

As a result, the council urged the school management for further extension and permission for students to sit for their exams.

Recall that the three-week extension given to students for the payment of their outstanding fees ends on the 23rd of September, 2024.
