African Studies Students’ Association UI Set to Hold Student Week

The African Studies Students’ Association, University of Ibadan is set to hold its 2024 students’ week.

The one week schedule of programs will be held between Monday, 9th of December to Friday, 13th of December, 2024 at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan.

The week-long event themed ‘Afínjú’ (critical mind) will feature symposium, panel session, trade fair, exhibition, community service, and alumni reunion.

In a chat with IndyPress, the President of the association, Michael Awoyemi noted that the theme of the event was geared towards reigniting a critical examination of the African systems.

“We have packaged our student week to re-ignite a critical examination of the systems around us and more importantly, to do it through lenses in African epistemes,” the President noted.

“The one week long programme will be a giant step into the futures of activities in the University of Ìbàdàn. We implore both Undergraduates and Postgraduates to participate in the events as it promises to deliver beyond expectations,” the President added.
