Omotayo Olumide, the Public Relations Officer of the Union stated that he established over 10 committees, each serving a specific purpose.
According to the PRO, these committees have been instrumental in ensuring that the Union’s communication and publicity efforts are comprehensive and far-reaching.

“The adoption of the Union’s LinkedIn account from the past General Secretary has been another key step. I have taken on the responsibility of revitalizing this platform to ensure it becomes a more active and engaging space for professional networking and projecting students’ achievement,” the report reads.

The PRO listed out gadgets of the Union, under his watch, which are in good condition.
“Tripod: Stable and fully functional, regularly maintained. Panasonic Microphone: Working optimally, ensuring high-quality audio. UISU Dedicated Phone: Fully operational,” the report reads.
Highlighting the Challenges
The PRO said late budget approval and insufficient funding for data and operational costs were concerns faced.
“The absence of an approved budget has impacted our ability to promote Union events through essential publicity materials like banners and posters. Without these, event visibility and student engagement are limited.”
“With no allocated funds for data, maintaining UISU TV and other digital channels has been challenging. I have been covering these expenses personally to keep the Union’s communication channels active, but this is very challenging and unsustainable in the long term, the report concluded.
