The president of the Student Union, University Of Ibadan, Aweda Bolaji has urged students to be patient and give more time to the management to carry out their plans towards restoring light to the halls of residences.
This is following the earlier address made by the provost as regards the delay surrounding the restoration of power supply and the ongoing efforts to restore power supply.
He stated that after listening to what the provost had said, nothing more could be done than to wait.
“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen. We were all here when we heard what the provost had to tell us as regards our connection.”
“In the meantime we will have a new meeting for Monday and we’ll chart a way forward from there.”
“We’ve gone and see that they’ve gotten a new transformer to connect us… If someone is doing something rightwe have to give them a chance to complete it.”
“On our own end, we will make contact with the ministry of power. In fact, we are making contact with his office. Someone reached out to us from his office concerning the letter we sent to the Minister Of Power saying that what they have done here has not been completed.”
“The battle is not done until the power is restored to ABH and Falase hall, we will converge on Monday. So thank you very much for coming.” He said
It should be noted that the calling off of this protest is in contrast to the memo which was released earlier stating that the protest will continue till the day the light was restored.
