JUST IN: IndyPress Deputy Editor-in-Chief Emerges as UCJ Editor-in-Chief Elect

Toluwalope Ayeye, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of IndyPress Organization, has been elected as the Editor-in-Chief of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ-UI).

Ayeye, a 400-level Law student, previously served as Features Editor and General Editor at IndyPress Organization.

The UCJ-UI general election held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, virtually.

According to UCJ-UI, “eighty voters from all registered press organizations within the institution participated in the election to select the next members of the union’s executive council.”

Olanshile Ogunrinu, the current Editor-in-Chief of AFAS Press Organization and a member of Bello & ACLAS Press, was elected as the 37th President of UCJ-UI. Running unopposed, he secured a total of 80 votes, with three void votes.

Moboluwarin Ogunleye was elected as Vice President (Administration).

President: Olanshile Ogunrinu – 80 votes

Vice President (Editorial): Ayeye Toluwalope – 81 votes

Vice President (Administration): Ogunleye Moboluwarin – 78 votes

General Secretary: Faith Adediran – 79 votes

Financial Secretary: Shodipe Blessing Boluwatife – 74 votes

Assistant General Secretary: Ojo Victoria Ayoolajesu – 60 votes

Public Relations Officer II: Siyanbola Victor – 51 votes
