Two thieves broke into Obafemi Awolowo Hall at the University of Ibadan in the early hours of Saturday, stealing mobile phones of some students.
The Hall Executive Council in a special release signed by Oluwaseyi Adelere confirmed the incident, noting that efforts are ongoing to get to the bottom of the matter.
“At about 4am, two thieves broke into the hall and robbed some residents of block C. The thieves were reportedly unarmed and majorly stole mobile phones. There was no record of physical assault on any of the victims” the release reads.
” We empathize with the ladies whose valuables got stolen. We understand that this is a traumatic experience, especially during this period of examination. We assure every resident of Obafemi Awolowo Hall that investigations have begun in full swing. The testimonies of the victims have been taken down and the hall management, in collaboration with security operatives within and outside the school, has taken necessary steps to get to the bottom of this matter,” the release added.
