After 109 days of darkness, the Alexander Brown Hall and the Falase Hall of Residence finally received power supply on February 18, 2025, at around 8:30 a.m.
Speaking to IndyPress at 8:40 a.m, ABH’s Hall Chair, Ayotunde Oni, confirmed the restoration of power supply to ABH. He noted that electricity had been restored to the hall about “15 minutes ago” at the time of the call.
However, according to him, no official announcement regarding the restoration had been made.
Recall that on February 13, 2025, the Provost of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Professor Temidayo Olusade Ogundiran, had urged students to be more patient with the authorities.
On that day, he explained that the Oyo State Police Command, IBEDC, and the College of Medicine were scheduled to have a meeting.
“Students can be seen felicitating in ABH. Many expressed their disbelief at the restoration,” UIMSA Press reported.
