Election activity is ongoing at the Great Independence Hall of Residence, IndyPress reports.

At the time of this report, some residents of the Great Independence Hall of Residence were queued at the entrance of the hall cafeteria, where accreditation and voting exercises are taking place.

Inside the venue, members of the Katanga Republic Electoral Commission were seen addressing a technical issue, which had been resolved by press time.

When asked about the issue ahead of election day, a member of the Electoral Commission said, “The elections have started fully and smoothly. We just want all Katangites to come out.”
