A dentist who is also an artist, Dr. Bode Falomo, has encouraged Nigerians to discover and maximize their innate talents.

Dr. Falomo gave this advice during an exhibition of paintings and literary works held at CAMAA Salon, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan.

Dr. Falomo’s works being exhibited is scheduled to run from March 4 to 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. daily.

Professor Sola Olorunyomi played host, while Professor O.I. Pogoson was represented as the curator.

Addressing the audience, the Director of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, Professor Olorunyomi, appreciated donors, partners, stakeholders, and individuals who contributed to the planning and execution of the project.

“I am pleased to welcome you to the formal opening of this extension of the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Arts Salon. This event marks a significant milestone in our journey to celebrate, promote, and preserve our rich African arts and heritage,” Professor Olorunyomi said.

“This extension is created to cater to smaller exhibitions that may be vibrant and intense but not expansive enough for our main exhibition space. Yet, we can assure you that our exhibits and offerings from both sites promise to educate, inspire, and connect different cultural templates and sensibilities of African art, paintings, and sculptures, among others. As you explore this museum, we hope to stir your curiosity by prompting you to ask about the significance, symbolism, and stories behind each piece of art,” the Director added.

Following Dr. Falomo’s address, the exhibition was declared open. Attendees took turns viewing the works of art, which conveyed different life concepts.
