Six academic staff at the University of Ibadan have been nominated to participate in a postgraduate program in London, IndyPress reports.
The academic staff members have earned the nomination to take part in the Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Online Learning and Teaching, an initiative by the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education at King’s College in London, United Kingdom.
The six nominated staff members include Dr. Iyanuoluwa Ojo from the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Dr. Adebunmi O. Oyekola from the Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies, Dr. I. O. Dipeolu from the Department of Health Promotion and Education, Dr. Folake M. Tafita from the Department of Private and Property Law, Dr. Esther Oyefeso from the Department of Special Education, and Dr. D. A. Adewole from the Department of Health Policy and Management.
The nomination followed the participation of three of the nominees in a curriculum development workshop in August 2024, where they joined academic staff from King’s College London and other institutions across Africa. The aim of the workshop was to develop a “train the trainers” initiative for educational development in Africa.
The University of Ibadan is one of the partner institutions across the African continent working to develop a healthy workforce in Africa.
The nominees recently paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships), Professor Oluyemisi Bamgbose, whose office is responsible, on behalf of the University, for coordinating the programme.
