“Our mission is rooted in the belief that through collective endeavor and mutual commitment, we can achieve a substantial and lasting impact,” Ifafore said.

Ifafore, in the statement, further assured Katangites of the donation of a public address system. This, he said, would enhance effective communication and engagement during students’ activities.

“We are committed to cultivating a dynamic and supportive community that truly exemplifies the spirit of Great Independence Hall,” Ifafore concluded.

In an interview with IndyPress, the President of the Great Independence Hall Alumni Association, Omotola Ifafore, stated the objectives of the association.

“Our objective is to preserve the proud tradition of Great Independence Hall and also create a platform where Independites can connect, collaborate, and contribute to the hall and the university,” Ifafore said.

“We have planned activities which will include networking events designed to encourage mentorship and professional growth, community outreach projects to promote social responsibility, and educational programs that support scholarship for current students,” Ifafore added.

Ifafore further clarified the benefits attached to membership of the association.

“For our members, the benefit of helping to preserve their memories is essential. Since most of us grew to our adulthood in the hall, we have in place the platform to create opportunities to network both professionally and socially.”
