Queens, ZIk Win 2025 Inter-Hall Freshers’ Cup

ZIk and Queens teams on Thursday, May 15, 2025, won the 2025 Inter-Hall Freshers’ Cup.

Queens dominated the female final, securing a 5-0 victory against Idia. Heritage, a player with the Queens Hall team, emerged as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, registering five goals.

Reacting, Heritage said, “I thank God for this win, and hope future freshers will retain the trophy for Queens hall.”

In the male category, Zik defeated Mellanby Hall 5-3 in a penalty shootout to lift the trophy. Oyewole Gbolahan, ZIk player, was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, while his teammate, Temidayo, earned the title of the Best Goalkeeper.

“I thank God for this victory, especially after people doubted us,” Temidayo told IndyPress.

Zik Hall coach, Adetunji Samson, expressed his excitement over his team’s victory, recounting past challenges.

“Three years in a row, we have been to the finals, and played penalties like this. This one felt like history wanted to repeat itself. But I am happy that we emerged victorious,” Adetunji said
