The round of the group 16 stages of the 2025 SEALS Cup commenced today, June 10, 2025.

The opener saw WBE eliminate the History Department in a hard-fought 2-1 victory. The game was competitive from start to finish, with both teams displaying dominance in possession.

The second game featured a dramatic showdown between the Civil Engineering and Economics Departments. Economics’ early lead boosted their confidence. However, Civil Engineering responded with relentless pressure, overturning the scoreline with goals in the second half.

Just when it seemed it was over, Economics converted a corner kick to push the match into a penalty knockout. Civil Engineering eventually emerged victorious with a 4 – 3 win in the shootout.

The final game of the day saw Industrial and Production Engineering face off Pharmacy, with the match ending in a goalless draw.The game was eventually decided by penalty shoot-out with IPE securing a 6-5 victory to move on to the quarter finals.

WBE, Civil Engineering, and IPE have secured their spots in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament.

The remaining round of 16 fixtures of the SEALS Cup will be held today, June 11, 2025.
