The management of the University of Ibadan has introduced new guidelines for the conduct of the university’s General Studies first semester examinations scheduled to commence on Monday, July 7, 2025.

According to a memo dated June 30, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Registrar (Students), students are required to arrive at the examination halls thirty minutes before the start of their exams.

The new policies also mandate students to raise their hands to signify issues during the examination.

Additionally, students are prohibited from leaving the examination hall without permission.

The use of smartphones, wristwatches, bracelets, hand bands, caps, hoods, or any mobile devices, according to the memorandum, is prohibited during the examinations.

“All students should queue outside the examination halls 30 minutes before the examination and ready to be checked in for examinations. All students will only be allowed into the examination hall by producing on-line registration course form and students’ identity,” the memorandum reads.

“No handset, wristwatch, bracelets, hand bands, caps, rings, beads, hood, or any mobile device is allowed into the examination hall.”

“The entry point of students should be their exit point to pick their belongings while the next batch comes in through the alternative entrance to the examination hall,” it added.
