Honourable Okikiola Mojoyinola, majority leader of the Sultan Bello Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan Students’ Representative Council, has resigned from the 12th Assembly, IndyPress can report.
His resignation letter, dated Monday, was addressed to the Speaker of the 12th Assembly, Shoge Quadri, through the Clerk, Adedeji Praise.
“In accordance with Article 6, Section (II) of the TESA constitution, i Honorable Okikiola Mojoyinola, the Majority Leader of Sultan Bello Hall, hereby immediately resign as a member of Students’ Representative Council, having represented with the best interest of my constituents at heart,” Okikiola wrote.
“I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve my brothers in nobility and support they have given in this journey to the Prime. As the new chapter unfolds, I look forward to meeting all again at the prime,” he added.
Efforts by IndyPress to get a better understanding or reason for the resignation from the Honorable were unsuccessful as of press time.
Meanwhile, an insider confirmed to IndyPress that the reason for the resignation was the honorable’s intent to contest for yet another political position in his faculty, the Faculty of Technology.
A new majority leader for the constituency has not been publicly announced as of press time.
