The Senate of the University of Ibadan has approved the introduction of new academic programmes within some faculties at the University, IndyPress can report.

The newly approved academic courses include Biomedical Engineering, Social Work, Educational Technology, and Education and Computer Science.

In an interview with IndyPress on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the University of Ibadan Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Adejoke Adepelu, confirmed the approval of the courses through a statement from the University Senate Office.

“I have confirmed that all the above courses were recently approved by the Senate. It is authentic information,” Mrs. Adejoke Adepelu confirmed.
