The Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, commissioned some of its projects, sponsored by benefactors and the alumni body of the faculty, on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The faculty projects include the renovation of the Faculty Seminar Room, CT Room, Staff Common Room, and Practical Laboratory for the Health Education Department.

The faculty also received some donations, including the signage for the new Faculty of Education Building Complex and the provision of a 7.5KVA solar-powered inverter.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, the University Librarian, Dr. Mercy A. Iroaganachi, emphasized that development in the educational system is not only the responsibility of the federal government but also that of tertiary institutions within the country.

Commending the donors, Dr. Mercy described a tertiary institution as a growing organism, whose development is determined by contributory efforts from all and sundry.

Dr. Iroaganachi called on other stakeholders to contribute to the growth of the University of Ibadan, while charging the alumni, friends, and industries to collaborate towards advancing its tradition of excellence.

Reacting, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Olufemi Adegbola Adegbesan, appreciated the management of the University of Ibadan for what he described as its unwavering support to the faculty.

He said, “The legacy projects will enhance the teaching and learning of students in the faculty and the University at large.”
