The Public Relations Officer of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, Oladapo Salvador, has confirmed that the ongoing SBJ food scheme will provide free meals for 100 Katangites every month.

Oladapo Salvador disclosed this in an interview with IndyPress on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

According to Salvador, the initiative is a collaborative effort between SBJ cafeteria and Indy Hall Executive Council.

Salvador further explained that the scheme caters for 25 residents per week, specifically between Tuesday and Saturday, and will run throughout the 2024/2025 academic session.

According to Salvador, 125 Katangites had already benefited from the scheme as of the interview time.

“The scheme came in collaboration with the Great Independence Hall Executive Council and is to feed 100 Katangites every month,” Salvador said.
