Egbe Omo Oduduwa Awards Scholarship to UI Students

The Egbe Omo Oduduwa, South Florida, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, offered scholarships to some students of the University of Ibadan.

Reacting, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, commended the association for what he described as its consistency in awarding scholarships to some outstanding students of the institution.

Professor Adebowale described the scholarship scheme as a vital contribution to youth empowerment and sustainable development, while emphasizing that Africa’s strength lies in education and the development of its young people.

“The strength of any nation is in its young people.No other continent has the strength of young people like Africa,” Professor Kayode Adebowale said.

Professor Adebowale further urged the recipients of the scholarship scheme to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating academic excellence, discipline, and leadership.

The University of Ibadan Dean of Students, Professor Demola Lewis, disclosed that 27 final year students of Yoruba origin benefited from the scholarship scheme, while commending the association for its support.
