The Association of Veterinary Medical Students, University of Ibadan, is set to hold the 24th edition of its Dog Show on September 11, 2025, at the University of Ibadan Sports Complex.
The event, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and tagged “Furtarstic Parade,” will focus on the significance and roles dogs play in offering protection to mankind and society.
The show is intended to showcase various dog breeds and educate the public on their abilities.
Speaking to IndyPress, Miss Aishat Akinleye, one of the conveners of the upcoming event, disclosed that the show aims at demonstrating the talents of dogs through various exhibitions.
Miss Aishat further mentioned the event will feature interactive sessions between the Veterinary Medicine students and potential attendees, promoting awareness about dog health, behavior and general care
According to her, dog owners are required to register for the show to benefit from medical check-ups and exhibitions
She added that potential attendees stand the chance of winning various items, including fans, pressing irons, power banks, lamps, among others.
“There will be a lecture on the healthcare and management of dogs as well as the provision of a series of professional veterinary check-ups, including haematology tests for all participating dogs,” Miss Aishat told IndyPress.
