UI Student Breaks Guinness World Record

Okojie Wisdom, a 100- level Physics student, University of Ibadan, has broken the Guinness World Record for ”The Most Lanyards Worn”, IndyPress reports.

Okojie set the  record on Saturday, August 30, 2025, by wearing 600 lanyards around his neck simultaneously.

Reacting, Okojie expressed excitement, while acknowledging the physical discomfort involved in achieving the feat.

He said, “I feel so elated to have broken the record actually, but my neck was hurting at that point, though it was worth it. I would say it was God that made it possible.”

Regarding the official recognition of his set record, Okojie mentioned that he would submit the required documentation to Guinness World Records for certification.

“⁠I will send submit the evidence and other requirements for the record to be certified,” he added.

Encouraging students willing to achieve similar feat, Wisdom advised, “⁠My advice to anyone who wants to break a record is that they can do it if they set their minds to it.”
