The SIGMA Sports Festival commenced on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with a friendly match between the female teams of Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Ibadan.

The match began with high intensity, as both teams made relentless efforts to capitalize on every chance. The UI Amazon’s  defense struggled against the aggressive attacking force of the Giantess. However, the Amazon’s goalkeeper put on a commendable performance, making several crucial saves to keep her team in the game. The first half ended in a goalless draw.

The second half resumed with the same energy, with Giantess  pressing UI Amazon’s vulnerable backline. The Amazons found it difficult to break through OAU’s strong defense, leaving their goalkeeper  untested.

Eventually, the breakthrough came when an OAU’s player capitalized on a defensive error by the UI Amazon to score the lone goal of the match. Despite several attempts, the UI Amazon failed to mount a comeback, and their open defense allowed further pressure from the Giantess attack. The match ended in a 1–0 victory in favour of OAU Giantess.
