The Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, has annulled the request by the Students’ Union Executive Committee, led by Covenant Odedele, for the reconstitution and re-sit of the Council’s Disciplinary Committee, IndyPress reports.

Odedele Covenant, the University of Ibadan Students’ Union President, during the Council’s fifth emergency sitting, requested that a member of the Students’ Union Executive Committee be part of the 12th Assembly’s Disciplinary Committee, a Committee of the Council which is currently handling the case of the multiple allegations levied on the Covenant Odedele-led administration.

After a thorough debate on the floor of the House, the Council annulled the request, citing that the Executive Committee “cannot be a judge in its case.”
