The Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan, has postponed the grand finale of its public speaking event, Jaw War, to Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
It will be recalled that the grand finale of public speaking event (Jaw War) was initially scheduled for October 18, 2025.
In an interview with IndyPress, the President of UI TLDS, Babatimehin Peace, provided clarification regarding the reason behind the postponement.
“Oh, It was a logistics thing. Many things came into play when selecting a date for the finals. Our previous date fell in between the Union week and it’d make no sense to have two major events on one day,” Babatimehin Peace told IndyPress.
“Then we needed a date that worked for the University management and was free for the venue. If anything, we’re happy it wasn’t postponed by so long,” he added.
The grand finale, rescheduled for October 22, will feature Sultan Bello and Queen Idia Halls in the hall category, while Faculty of Education will compete against Clinical Sciences in the faculty category.
