The University of Ibadan has matriculated about 5,000 new students into its Distance Learning Program for the 2024/2025 Academic session.

Among the matriculated students is Mrs. Kate, a 69-year-old woman admitted to the Department of Social Work.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University (Administration), Professor Peter Olapegba, while addressing the students, emphasized that the University is governed by a clear set of laws and maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any conduct that could compromise its reputation.

Professor Peter Olapegba further encouraged the newly matriculated students to be deliberate about their academic journey while stressing that genuine success is not accidental but is built through deliberate choices and intentional commitment to personal development.

He urged the students to take advantage of the school community, striking a balance between their academic study and social engagement.
