The University of Ibadan Senate, has approved new academic courses within some faculties and departments at the University.
The approval of the new courses was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, during the 77th Foundation Day Ceremony held at the International Conference Center, UI, on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Professor Adebowale further noted that the university Senate has approved the establishment of the Faculty of Nursing and Computing, as well as that of the Department of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Technology, and Advanced Computing Courses.
He added that programs like B.Sc Social Work, B.Ed Educational Technology, B.Sc Ed Computer Science, and B.Eng Biomedical Engineering have been submitted to the National Universities Commission for accreditation.
According to him, programmes in the Faculty of Computing such as B.Sc Software Engineering, B.Sc Data Science, B.Sc Cyber Security, and B.Sc Information and Communication Technology have been submitted to NUC for accreditation process
“These new programmes reflect our unwavering commitment to innovation, research, and quality education, positioning our graduates as leaders in their fields,” Professor Adebowale noted.
