IndyPress Gets New Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board

The Great Independence Hall Press Organization, University of Ibadan, held an in-house handover on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

The in-house handover, held at the press secretariat, situated at Indy Hall C-Block Ground Floor, saw an end to the Sonaike Peter-led administration.

Succeeding Sonaike Peter as the Editor-in-Chief of the organization is Gbayesola Samuel. He is to be deputized by Diran Olaolu as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Abdulrashed Olokoto was announced as the Managing Editor and Feature Editor, with Patrick Eze as the Politics Editor.

Favour Adeyemi is to serve as the Sports Editor while Abdullah Oladejo, the current IndyPress News Editor, will maintain the editorial role.

Favour Ogundare will step in the role of Online Editor with Ambali Olayinka being unveiled as the Health Editor.

While the in-house handover has taken place, the new members of the Editorial Board will be inaugurated at a later date.

IndyPress is a 41-year-old local press organization, situated at C-Block Constituency, Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan.
