The Great Independence Hall Press Organization, University of Ibadan, has been awarded the Overall Best Local Press Organization Award.

This feat was announced at the UCJ 37TH administration dinner ceremony held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Department of Music, University of Ibadan.

Reacting, the former IndyPress Editor-in-Chief, Sonaike Peter, appreciated the members of the organization for their commitment to issue-based journalism while describing the feat as a call to do more.

“I appreciate every member of the Press for their commitment to issue-based journalism. The award is a call to do more when it comes to using the pen to champion the student interests,” Sonaike Peter, Former IndyPress Editor-in-Chief noted.

IndyPress Organization is a forty-one year old local press organization situated in the C-Block axis of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan.
