The Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, is set to commence its 2025 election scheduled for December 20, 2025, at 9AM.

This was disclosed through a broadcast released by the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC’26).

The election, according to the Electoral Commission, will run from 9AM to 4PM.

​”The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC’26) wishes to inform all Katangites that the 2025/2026 general election is scheduled to hold as follows. Date: Saturday, December 21, 2025. Time: 9:00AM – 4:00PM,” the commission wrote.

The commission further informed Katangites, the student residents of the hall, to  provide valid means of identification (School or hall dentification cards) at the polling venue to vote.

“All voters must present a valid means of identification (School ID or hall ID) at the polling venue.” KRIEC wrote.

Regarding eligibility, the commission noted that only floor members may vote for their respective floor representatives, while all Katangites, the student residents of the hall,  are eligible to vote for their candidates vying for executive positions.

“Only eligible floor members are allowed to vote for their respective Floor Representatives.”

“All Katangites are eligible to vote for Executive positions.” KRIEC added.
