The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC’26) is set to re-conduct B3 and C4 floor representative elections due to discrepancies in the results.
The Re-run is scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3PM to 5PM at the Junior Common Room (JCR).
According to the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC), the decision was due to over-voting which occurred in those floor representative elections
“The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC’26) wishes to inform Katangites that it has come to our notice that cases of over-voting occurred in the Floor Representative elections for B3 and C4 Constituencies,” KRIEC wrote.
“This was due to the fact that some voters did not follow the instructions and ended up voting for either the floors they previously resided on or floors where they had preferred candidates, rather than their current floor of residence. To maintain the integrity of the process, a fresh ballot voting will be conducted for B3 and C4,” It added.
As stated in the broadcast, the re-run elections will be a ballot system, and only the legal residents whose names appear in the Logbook of those floors will be allowed to vote.
The update on the Re-run was disclosed through a broadcast circulated by the Electoral commission, Chaired by Hon. Ayinde Samuel, Secretary, on Saturday evening.
