The Executive Council of Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, has responded to  the financial allegations earlier levelled against it.

Recall that Team Altruism, Peculiar Adedeji-led Executive Council, was earlier accused of financial irregularities and administrative discrepancies in a four-page petition undersigned by some concerned student residents of the hall on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

In its response to the petition, Team Altruism, through a 15-page rejoinder titled “Administrative Clarification On Hall Projects And Financial Accountability”, exonerated itself from the allegations with a clarification on how the hall’s funds and property have been managed.

“In our commitment to the spirit of justice and transparency, the Executive Council presents a formal clarification regarding recent concerns surrounding Hall projects and financial stewardship,” Team Altruism wrote.

Despite the clarification, the Great Independence Hall Legislative Council, being the policy-making organ of the hall, has not yet cleared the Executive Council of the allegations, as of the time of filling this report.
