Dr. Adekunle Odedokun has been appointed to succeed Dr. A.O. Adejumobi as the new Hall Warden of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan.
His emergence was disclosed in a post signed by the President of the Great Independence Hall Alumni Association, Omotola Ifafore on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
“Our alumni are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Hall Warden for our hall, Great Independence Hall, University of Ibadan!” the announcement reads.
“He is Dr. Adekunle Odedokun, a 2005 graduate of the University of Ibadan and a Great Katangite,” it added.
Speaking with IndyPress, Dr. Odedokun enjoined Katangites to support his administration.
“Let’s work together as a family. I earnestly covet the support of all the Katangites home and abroad. Together, our hall shall continue to be great,” Dr. Odedokun, the newly appointed Indy Hall Warden told IndyPress.

Dr. Solomon Adekunle Odedokun, who previously served as Assistant Hall Warden, is a lecturer in the Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies at the University of Ibadan. An alumnus of the institution, he earned his B.Ed. in Guidance and Counselling in 2005, followed by an M.Ed. in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2013.
His extensive academic background includes a National Diploma in Mathematics and Statistics from Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. His earlier education was completed at Osogbo Grammar School, Isale Oyo Community Grammar School, and Aatan Baptist School.
