The Kegites Club of Nigeria, National Headquarters, University of Ibadan is set to hold the maiden edition of its palm wine conference.
The conference theme, “Surviving the Tide: Preserving African Indigenous Cultures in a Globalised World” is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Ladybank Anthony Hall, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan by 10AM.
Speaking at the event are distinguished personalities as highlighted in the broadcast flyer.

Other activities to be featured in the conference include keynote speech, panel session, quiz competition, gyration and the launching of the maiden edition of the Keg Voice Magazine.
In an interview with IndyPress, The Ab National Chief of the Kegites Club University of Ibadan, Chief Olanshile Ogunrinu described the conference as a fresh initiative to foster critical discourse on African Culture and arts, governance and other areas.
“The palm wine conference 1.0 is a novel initiative. It is a platform for raising critical discourse on the intersection of African culture and arts, governance and other areas. Learned scholars will partake in the discourse,” Olanshile Ogunrinu, Chief of Kegites Club UI told IndyPress.
He also noted that the event is open to every individual interested in African culture to attend.
“It is open for participation for all interested in African culture. It is being done in partnership with the Institute of African Studies and The African Studies Students Association,” he added.
