Learn Politics, in collaboration with Civic Hive and Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative (PLSI), is set to host a civic hangout tagged Active Citizen Hangout, a space for active citizens, community organisers, and changemakers to connect, learn, and exchange ideas.
The programme is scheduled to hold on March 28, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Chamber, located at the Kunle Adepeju Memorial Building, University of Ibadan.
According to the organisers, the hangout aims to teach participants how to track budgets and public spending, as well as introduce tools for monitoring federal allocations and community projects. The session will also include discussions on public policy analysis and a case study on the Reserved Seats for Women Bill.
Speaking with IndyPress, the Programs Lead, Learn Politics, Mr Mayowa Olajide, described the hangout as a conversation space for young people interested in civic participation and engagement.
“It is about bringing people who are interested in these conversations together and introducing them to foundational ideas. It’s like young people coming together for a hangout. The structure is simple: people gather in a room and we discuss topics around budgets, participation, and accountability,” he said.
Interested participants have been advised to register through the link provided by the organisers.
