The legislative council of Great Independence Hall of Residence is set to hold its Second Ordinary Sitting for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was disclosed in a memorandum co-signed by the speaker of the council, Rt. Hon. Abdulmatin A. Gbadegesin, and the clerk of the House, Hon. Ibrahim O. Bello, on Friday April 10, 2026.
According to the memo, the sitting is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Independence Hall Junior Common Room (JCR) by 7pm.
The sitting will commence with an opening prayer, followed by opening remarks, the reading and adoption of the minutes of last sitting, and the presentation of the Fresher’s week report.
Other Agenda of the Sitting include the report from the project and event monitoring committee, Audit committee, finance and budgeting, as well as internal affairs committee report.
The Council is expected to move a motion on the operationalization of the constitutional review committee.
The notice urged members and attendees to be seated before the stipulated time and invited stakeholders, hall executives, Indy press organization, and the general katangites to attend the sitting.
