Team Dokia, a 3-man team of student innovators from the University of Ibadan, on Tuesday, 5th November 2024, emerged ultimate winner of the UIRESDEV Hackathon.
The team, made up of the trio of Oloruntoba Ajayi, Samuel Ogunleke and Godson Chukwuemeka, was able to snag the first position at the UIRESDEV Hackathon Finals, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
The hackathon finals featured six teams which presented pitches on their innovative solutions to issues facing students in the University.
Team Dokia which scored 79.85 edged out its closest competitors, Team Clyme (74.625) and Team Uniguide (72.5).
Team Dokia presented a solution to the dilemma of students being delayed before accessing medical care through a telemedicine platform that enables students to get in touch with doctors and the University’s Health Services easily.
Team Dokia was awarded a sum of two hundred thousand naira as cash prize for winning the hackathon.
The UIRESDEV HACKATHON is an initiative of the University of Ibadan to encourage students’ participation in research innovation.
