A statement by the Directorate of Public Communication, UI, noted that the poles and fittings were brought to the University by one of the aides of the Minister, Mr. Femi Awogboro.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Peter Olapegba while receiving the donation, commended the minister of power for his passionate commitment to turning the power sector around.
