REPORT: “We Serve UITES to the Best of Our Abilities” – UI’SU President, Aweda Bolaji Says in End-of-the-year Report

The 11th Assembly, Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, is currently holding a plenary sitting to review end-of-the-year reports presented by members of the Executive Council and various committees.

The 2-page report presented by Aweda Bolaji outlined twenty-one activities undertaken by the Union leadership in 2024.

“Team Amelioration was inaugurated into the office on Monday, May 13th 2024, and since then we have hit the ground running with a lot of activities,” the President’s report reads.

“We started with the familiarization and engagement of critical stakeholders, especially those students interface with on a regular basis,” the report added.

“We have been able to keep the Union running till date and serve UItes to the best of our activities.”

Some of the activities listed in the reports were inauguration, courtesy visit, CV writing webinar, Freshers’ week, tank washing, Seals Cup, mental health awareness, Food Bank Initiative, among others, which were supervised by some of the Executive Council members.

The report mentioned protests, conducted by students in July and August, also has activities.

Recall that several local press had reported about the held protests, which in summary, were initiatives of the students.

As indicated in the report, no Union officer claimed to have been in charge.
