The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC) has officially released the guidelines and details for the by-election set to fill vacant offices in the Great Independence Hall.

The announcement, made public via a special release, outlined key information for potential candidates and all stakeholders involved. It was signed by Omachonu Kelvin and Ayinde Samuel, as Chairman and Secretary of the electoral commission respectively.

According to the commission, the screening process for interested candidates will take place on Wednesday, March 5, at 5:00 PM.

The process will evaluate candidates based on their qualifications, and the selection of winners for various positions will be determined by the highest score attained during the screening.

KRIEC has stipulated that any candidate who achieves an aggregate score of 50 or below will be automatically disqualified, even if running unopposed.

This rule, KRIEC notes, is designed to ensure only the most qualified candidates are considered for the positions in question.

The commission has also emphasized the importance of candidates adhering to specific requirements.

All candidates must present at least eight copies of their manifesto at the screening.

Candidates are expected to attend the screening in formal attire and follow all regulations set forth by the KRIEC.

Additionally, punctuality was emphasized, and candidates have been encouraged to arrive on time, as late arrivals may lead to disqualification.
