The University of Ibadan Students’ Union Executive Committee commended the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the recent upgrade of UI-Agbowo axis road.

The commendation was made via an X post on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in which the Union highlighted the impact of the road project on the university community.

According to the Students’ Union leadership, the road upgrade has enhanced mobility, safety, and convenience for both students and staffs at the university.

The Students’ Union Executive Committee further appreciated the Governor for prioritizing the student community.

“The University of Ibadan Students’ Union extends its sincere appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State Government at large for promptly responding to our call and effecting a significant upgrade on the UI Gate/Agbowo Road,” the X post reads.

“This intervention has improved mobility, safety, and convenience for our students and staffs. We also acknowledge the car park relocation to First Bank and reinforced traffic rules at Agbowo. A clear sign of responsive governance. Thanks for prioritising our community,” it added.
