Opposite Queen Elizabeth II Hall of Residence and beside the now-demolished Heritage Park at the University of Ibadan is a dangerously leaning streetlight, posing a potential hazard to pedestrians and motorists alike, IndyPress can report.

According to IndyPress’ observation, the streetlight has remained in its precarious state since November 2024, following the demolition of the former recreational space, Heritage Park.

When contacted, the Students’ Union House Secretary, Oluwaseun Adeyemi, confirmed that the issue had been reported to the Department of Works and Maintenance. He assured that steps were being taken to address the situation.

“I have called Maintenance to come and restructure it, sir,” Oluwaseun told IndyPress.
