Sigma Club UI Set to Hold 11th Public Lecture

The Sigma Club, University of Ibadan, is set to hold the 11th edition of its public lecture on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Alumni Multipurpose Hall, UI.

This was disclosed by the executives of Sigma Club during a press briefing held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Sigma Secretariat.

According to the Club’s executives, the public lecture themed “Leveraging Technology and Digital Education for Mass Empowerment: Wealth Creation and Poverty Alleviation”, is being held in honour of Chief Dr. Adeola Kazeem, former CEO of First Bank Nigeria.

In line with the capacity of the venue, the expected number of attendees for the event is seven hundred.

Participation in the lecture is by registration, although unregistered attendees will also be welcomed.

The event, according to Sigma Club, will be graced by dignitaries including Dr. Karl Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria, as the guest speaker, and Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State.

“The public lecture is an intellectual gathering where issues affecting the country are discussed. It has already been held (previously) at the University of Ibadan for the University of Ibadan students,” Loyalist  Sulaimon Oluwasegun Philipson, Sigma Publicity Committee Chairman said.
