The Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, has commenced the renovation of its field, Maracana, IndyPress can report.

As observed by IndyPress, renovation workers have commenced the repair of the field, which had long been deemed unfit for use.

Reacting, the Administrator General of Indy Hall, Peculiar Adedejii, told IndyPress that the ongoing renovation of the Maracana is part of the development plans for the hall.

Peculiar Adedeji further appreciated the sponsors of the development, including alumni and friends.

“Concerning the Maracana project, we just want to sort it out and move on to other things that we need to do in the hall. This is a step towards making sure that Indy is home. We cannot just keep saying Indy is home without living it. By God’s grace, immediately after this, we will move on to other things. We really appreciate our sponsors. May God keep blessing them. The alumni association, individuals, companies, friends, and family we are reaching out to are really helping us. This is a very big project, and we are very happy about it,” Peculiar said.
